Los Amigos Choral Music has committed itself to bringing the beauty of choral music to life for audiences on campus, in their community, and beyond. The program is currently composed of four hard working choral ensembles that collaborate to produce quality music for their growth as up and coming professional musicians as well as to spread an authentic message of unity and connection with their audiences. LAHS Choral Music is a place for students who have a genuine passion for music and are dedicated to investing in their musical knowledge and vocal skills in order to engage in a musical artistry that inspires a worldly connection to our humanity despite our differences.
Meet the Directors
Mrs. Pauline
Ms. Bremmer
Ms. Thoreson
Mrs. Pauline, Ms. Bremmer, and Ms. Thoreson are thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate this year in directing the choirs at Los Amigos High School. Mrs. Pauline earned her Bachelors of Arts in Music Education and her Teaching Credential. Ms. Bremmer earned her Bachelors in Music from CSU Long Beach and went on to earn her Masters in Special Education from CSU Fullerton. Ms. Thoreson earned her Bachelors of Arts in Music Education at CSU Fullerton and is completing her Teaching Credential with us for the 2019-2020 School Year.
Mrs. Pauline serves as the Performing Arts Department Chair, teaching all 4 of the choirs at Los Amigos as well as a couple of sections of Life After High School. Ms. Bremmer serves as the Special Education Co-Chair, teaching MS Special Education courses, co-teaching A capella, and coaching girls Water Polo and Swim at Los Amigos HS. Ms. Thoreson will have the opportunity to work with all 4 choirs at Los Amigos HS and 2 elementary choirs in GGUSD during her student teaching year. Mrs. Pauline and Ms. Bremmer have pioneered the first inclusion choir in the Garden Grove Unified School District, This choir is perhaps the best example of the compassionate, great humans on this campus. It’s a special place where general education students and special education students are one and the same- they are all just music students working together to create something greater than themselves! They help each other out, celebrate each other’s successes, cheer each other on, and make the choir room a safe place on campus where all students are welcome.
All three directors work together in order to ensure all students are supported in their music experience here at Los Amigos High School. During concerts, all students have the opportunity to experience direction under all directors, giving them a unique music education that won't be found anywhere else!
